Trina filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the town of Skidmore, the county of Nottoway, Sheriff Danny Estes, Steve Peters, which was the mayor, and Del Clement, who she accused of being the shooter.

And the case was later settled out of court by all parties for the sum of $17,600 with no one admitting guilt.
