Sketchpad

A lot of the ideas came o-out of this one group at MIT, right? And then we went off and did other things.

He also invented Sketchpad.

Uh, I don't know if you know Sketchpad.

Who of you knows Sketchpad? Most of you, right? So there was a seminal paper, first pen-based interface, right? And I won't give it enough credit if I describe it, so I'll let experts in HCI describe it.

But all of this were the same ideas initially and then ventured out.

So the one thing that he didn't figure out, and that's what people haven't figured out until today, is how to get focus cues into these head-mounted displays.
