Skatepark of Tampa

The Tampa Bay Pro-Am.

Is this why you picked Tampa Pro? The Tampa Bay Pro.

It is.

I'm glad I got picked.

The Tampa Bay Pro Skate Tournament.

Tampa Pro, call it.

Give it its proper name.

Tampa Pro.

So you're 31 years old? Somewhere around that age, yeah.

It all kind of blends together because I've skated – I got medals in X Games, do tours, a three-time champion in the – what is it? The Tampa Pro.

I've had a great career and still going and still filming and skateboarding and riding Harleys and just enjoying life and doing it to the fullest.

So – What's this deck here? We got this signed for you guys.

If you were competing at 41

against your 31-year-old self, Would you win?

Yeah, I mean, I'm going to be going to Tampa Pro this year.

And I've won it three times, so I go right into the semifinals.

And we got into a debate today.

Okay, Tampa Am, the winning run.

How to fall in it.

And I'll give you the results in Skate News, but the winning run, how to fall in it.

Doesn't have to be a full pull.

Oh, my God.

But I'm just saying, like, when you have a mistake in your run, but you more than make up for it, because in the name of the game, right, with competition, especially if you want to make a difference, and, like, Tampa Am has always been about the proving grounds, the next level.

How are we, how are these young skaters coming up to disrupt with, uh, with the current generation of pros? And with that comes a certain level of, um, pushing the envelope and taking years and, and really trying super hard stuff.

Let me, let me bring it back.

We are going to the 32nd Annual Tampa Am, also known as a skate tournament at the Skatepark of Tampa, also known as The Spot.

I'm saying also known as a lot.

Hey, it rhymes at least.

Mm-hmm

... what happened in jam one of Tampa Am 2018?

One of my best moments.

Yeah, first Tampa Am.

And like I said, like, I used to go to, like, every Tampa Pro, every Tampa Am, and I'd, like, go watch it as a fan, like, walk around with the, uh, with the blank board, get every signature I could, take the photos, like-

Sick.

Yeah.

Finally got into Tampa Am.

People would just clown us.

Yeah, and then I think the f- when I actually quit hockey for it, I got invited to, like, Tampa Am.

And I remember the coach at the time was just like, "Dude, what are you fucking doing?" Like-

[laughs]
