Were there reggae gigs? There were some reggae gigs on, but, you know, like the first one I remember going to was, I'm not going to say the DJ's name, but he was playing like, you know, real commercial Maxi Priest and Shaggy and everything.

I remember going up and I said, do you have any like Sizzler or Bujabantin or Capleton? And they were the biggest artists in Jamaican music back then.

Um, in July 2004, Stop Murder Music Movement was launched, was launched, where they called for the censorship of Jamaican musicians who released songs with homophobic lyrics.

Um, the group would launch a 10-page electronic document called Dancehall Dossier, which looked at homophobic songs, songs of 10 dancehall artists, including Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Sizzla, T.O.K. and Buju Banton.

Soon after, Beenie Man was dropped from a tour sponsored by tobacco manufacturer R.J. Reynolds.

The artist faced extreme backlash after the release of songs, um, which contained extreme homophobic rhetoric.
