Sioux Falls School District 49-5

We'll get to know a group who is determined to change that.

When it comes to sending students from high school to college or technical school, the Sioux Falls School District is behind most of South Dakota.

The Promising Futures Fund has expanded into all four Sioux Falls high schools.

Their goal is to give kids that path out of poverty through success in college, technical school, the workforce, or the military.

You'll hear his voice first.

Sioux Falls has a very high rate of poverty.

The Sioux Falls school district does with a 47% rate right now.

So that's, you know, almost one in every two kids is coming from a low income home.

Nice.

And the foundation helps benefit, you know, local artists, especially in our Sioux Falls School District.

We help provide guitar lessons there, so.

Nice.

Uh, over, over 800 students, I had to look this number up before this-

Yeah

... over 800 students have taken classes, uh, within the guitar lessons that they provide at the school, Sioux Falls School District-

I love it
