Honestly, as a Singaporean, I'm really happy to be able to tell a Singapore story because I think as Singaporeans, a lot of people always say we don't have our own identity because we are so much influenced by the Western culture or other cultures like J-pop, K-pop.

Yeah, we are always very influenced by our other countries around us, but we don't really embrace our own we do have our own culture we speak Singlish and sometimes we should be proud of it but like most Singaporeans they just they don't they feel like because we are a young nation we don't have our own identity but I beg to differ and I'm happy like I can make a film that is really that is really about Singapore like the film is set in Singapore and in the 90s and yeah so it's something wonderful for me as Singaporean yeah
