Sinai Temple

Good evening.

Welcome to Sinai Speaks, our weekly program here at Sinai Temple in Los Angeles.

This week is Sukkot.

It is Zman Simchatenu.

open, exposed, inviting, unexpected, and permeable.

And yet to live in that world and feel secure amidst the temporality, Rabbi Nicole Guzik at Sinai Temple wrote in her Bissell of Torah this past Friday, the sukkah reminds us to go out into the world, especially when the comforts of insularity beckon us closer, to explore paths we have yet to take and seek journeys ready for wandering.

The strength of the sanctuary holds us up.

The hearts of family, friends, and community bolster our curiosity, reminding us that the relationships we have built with God and each other support each step forward.

Yeah.

I, I grew up at Sinai Temple.

We're having Rabbi N- Nicole Guzik and Elisha Sherman, husband wife team leading Sinai Temple, my home community.

Um, and, and I know f- okay, break fast.

Y- you're probably gonna be checking my pockets when I come into synagogue on, on-

... on Common Faith.

Pre-recorded as we are, they have sermons to write.

But they've just published a new book, so we're in dialogue with the co-senior rabbis of Sinai Temple in Los Angeles, my hometown.
