We just did a bunch of shows with Deep Purple in Kansas.

And of course, Simon McBride is the lead guitar player of Deep Purple.

We're going to dive into his appearance on this podcast from, I mean, from the first tour that I did with Deep Purple.

This was the third one.

Joe is another incredible talent.

He also plays some guitar.

And of course, Simon McBride, who took over for Steve Morse.

This man is immaculate.

Really good creativity by the band.

You know, Simon McBride's adding a lot to Deep Purple.

Ian Gillan's lyrics are really good.

He's telling stories all the time through his musical.

John Lord died, obviously, and Richie left, and we had Steve Morse for 25 years.

yeah it came out right around the time the new rolling stones came out and i was you know spending a lot of time listening to both and i'm like i love that new deep purple album way more than i do the new stones you know

the funny thing is like i i've liked deep purple for years they've never been a favorite favorite favorite band of mine but Minus One was my favorite album from 2024 and I said I never thought I'd see that they were a Deep Purple album would be my favorite album from but it's just that good and the new one is really really it's continuing it's great I'm a huge fan of Simon McBride and he he's a guitar hero I mean he yes he really shines on stage and they gave him lots of room um no it was fantastic it was great I've never seen Deep Purple before Saw Kansas once back in 94.

Of course, this is a completely different band on stage, but it didn't matter.

I was, you know, it was like I was just, you know, there's such a favorite of mine.
