Simon Kim

How is everybody doing? I have a little something that I need to discuss with you guys.

So this week I got mogged by Simon Kim again.

Simon Kim is kind of the guy right now.

He's the owner of Cote, a Korean steakhouse with locations in Singapore, Miami, Vegas, two in New York.

He's an old-fashioned kind of restaurateur, always in a suit, always hair slicked back, handsome, charismatic, always on, always working the room.

But back to my story.

The first time I got mogged by Simon Kim, I was at Coco Doc, Simon's fancy fried chicken restaurant.

I was sitting at a table, and a friend introduced me to Simon.

He's a big freaking deal.

Um, I am [laughs] pleased to welcome Simon Kim to the show today.

Simon Kim is the founder and CEO of Gracious Hospitality Management.

I love that name.

The group behind acclaimed concepts including Cote Korean Steakhouse, Kodok, and Undercote.

So if you look at actually, um, my logo, Gracious Hospitality Management, uh, it actually has my Korean character in it, Kim.

Oh, cool.

You know, Simon Kim.

I think it's like the format is, it's, and this is from Simon Kim, and it's from-

Yes

... kind of like a, a version of, of Cote-

And I think it's important that we do that in life.

Well, you know where else I did that also? After I dropped the ball on you at K-Punch Shop House, I was at Bar Camara, Simon Kim's restaurant, like when it opened.

And he's standing next to me at the bar and I wanted to speak to him.
