AKP, this is obviously an Old Glory DC podcast, but it's always fun to bring in some other stuff.

I want to revisit, again, just I want to talk through some of the maybe latest rumors, developments, things you're hearing since the news was released that Oak Glory, D.C. is not retaining Simon Cross as head president.

Head coach.

So again, Oak Glory DC officials going through the process of hiring are going to be bringing on a new head coach.

Okay, that's good.

That's encouraging.

It does narrow things down quite a bit because the alternative is we pick someone out of the New Zealand NPC like we did with Josh Sims or out of the URC with Simon Cross.

We've traditionally gotten our coaches from somewhere random in the world, so this does narrow it down a bit.

But there have been things that have been tried.

When Simon Cross was at Murrayfield Wanderers and I was at Watsonians, we kind of tried, but you had boys who were training on a Tuesday night with me and then I'm saying to them, by the way, you're in it.

And then they're going on a Thursday and they're playing for Murrayfield Wanderers on Saturday and they're going,

that's not

Yeah.

So Simon Cross is out as the head coach of the team.

Yeah.

Which is big news.

His three MLR seasons are the most MLR seasons of any head coach.

I think technically Andrew Douglas was head coach for longer because he had that exhibition season in 2019, but...

You look at Old Glory's time in MLR, and Simon Cross has been in charge for a good chunk of it.

He is not completely gone from the organization, though.
