Sima Yi

The dodge mechanic is part of what makes it a more reasonable game to play and what makes characters feel more viable, especially now that you can sort of combo attacks better by closing in, um, when you knock them away.

So yeah, no matter the character, they're having a, a less bad time, which is good, 'cause one of my favorite characters is the guy with the fan, Sima Yi, who has no range whatsoever and no crowd control and big openings in his offense.

So being able to dodge and, and stuff, and I still can't quite get the hang of the parry.

But I have learned also that parrying their musou, like their big invincible attack, with yours is a waste of time.

Houjing was another military leader who served the Northern Wei, and then after the division of the state, went on to serve the Gaos and the Eastern Wei.

He was another in a long line of military opportunists, going back to Dong Zhuo, Cao Cao, Wang Mang, Sima Yi, Shi Le, and Er Zhu Rong.

And there were more to follow.

In 547, Hou Jing defected from the eastern way to the Liang.

Well, there's so much legend interlaced with the historical record.

But sometime in the year 207, after three attempts knocking on the door of Zhuge Liang's cottage, as the famous story goes, thanks to the introduction provided by Sima Hui, Liu Bei stood face to face with Crouching Dragon.

This story of Liu Bei's attempts to meet Zhuge Liang was memorialized in another famous Chinese saying, San Gu Mao Lu, Three Visits to the Thatched Cottage.

And here, at this legendary and historic location in Hubei province, in Longzhong, the place where Zhuge Liang resided, they held the historic Longzhongdui, or Longzhong Plan.

This started right after the death of Cao Pi in 226.

His son, Cao Rui, took over.

And this grandson of Cao Cao would be remembered as the one who invited Sima Yi into the Wei government.

A fateful decision, as that turned out to be.
