[laughs] Yes, it does.

Uh, but yeah, we've been, w- so we have it set up and we'll, we have, uh, the Silverfast software, this, uh, this film scanning software set up on the computer that we'll be running it through.
Billy NewmanHOST
2:43
That's what, that's what a lot of the photos, like, if you see the photographs that we're talking about on this podcast, the photos that we end up, um, posting online or, like, on Instagram if you've seen those photos, those are all, I think f- 99% are all from shooting film and developing it and then bringing the negatives home and scanning it.
Billy NewmanHOST

And we've, we've been doing that almost full time for the last, I guess, year and four months or so.
James LeeHOST

So there's some particular scanning setups that you need to know with this film as well.
James LeeHOST
18:25
Because of the way that the dye coupling works and, and, uh, the way the film is actually constructed, your scanner, because it has, the way that it's, it's, it's layered, and this particularly applies to Silverfast, uh, users, and I'm not a Vuescan user, but certainly if, if you have scanning software that has dust removal programming, you need to turn that off.
James LeeHOST
18:49
Otherwise, it's going to just make it complete...
James LeeHOST
18:51
It's gonna, it, it's gonna look like mud, um, because it's going to interpret all of those different layers, um, as, um, as dust in that negative, and it's gonna mash them all together and it just, it, the images look ve- very blurry and, uh, and, and look like a mess.

I dislike scanning color anyways, but just color infrared just makes it all, all sorts of weird.
James LeeHOST
22:44
I, I find scanning positive is, is very challenging.
James LeeHOST
22:48
Um, it, the, the, the, um, the Silverfast scanning software with the iCal 8 for traditional positive scanning is very helpful.
James LeeHOST
22:58
Um, but it's not very helpful for this film.
