Siloam tunnel

From the pool of Siloam to the outside of the city, there's this tunnel built.

It's called Hezekiah's Tunnel.

You can still see it to this But that's not a river.

That's a tunnel.

It says Hezekiah blocked the upper outlet of the Gihon spring and channeled the water down the west side of the city of David.

Now this is the very real and famous Hezekiah's tunnel.

It still exists and it is one of the marvels of ancient engineering.

It was dug through solid rock stretching roughly 1,770 feet.

This, this really historically is prepping for Assyria coming, as Kerry was just saying, and the, all the preparations they do, and they do some great preparations.

They do Hezekiah's Tunnel, as we call it today, to bring the water source in, uh, more safely and more secure.

They build an extra wall, and they, they tear down houses to build this extra wall.

Um, they sort of visit the armory, make sure they're ready to go there.

You descend to the Pool of Siloam at dawn and watch the priest fill the golden flask.

The water is flowing from the Gihon Spring through Hezekiah's Tunnel.

Then the procession up the step street, shofar blasts at the water gate, the crowd pressing in.

And the sound.

Uh, I was trying to remember what it translates to.

Yeah, it, it, it is older than the Hezekiah Tunnel, uh, which is 700 BC.

It's an older type of Hebrew.

And what this is... is this is, we think, put to music and it was used when the priests would go down to the Pool of Siloam.

So now remember, we talked about this back when we talked about Hezekiah's Tunnel.

Hezekiah's Tunnel dug a hole through the mountain down into what's called the Spring of Gihon.

And so this spring where water sprang up from underground went through this tunnel and descended into this pool which was within the walls of Jerusalem.

And this beautiful pool had this water that came, that sprang from the rock.

And you see reference to Gihon.

I mean, you know, people like how could they be wrong about the temple location? I think the question we should be asking is how can they be wrong about a spring? How can they be wrong about things like Hezekiah's Tunnel? And literally almost everything else.

It's amazing how many spots are over in the city of David that are specifically mentioned in Nehemiah when they're rebuilding the temple.

But yet, when it comes to the temple location, nope, it's over there in the other spot.
