Signature Theatre

So it's interesting the road that you guys had once it was constructed.

You said you started out in Arlington, right? At the Signature set?

We did.

We started at Signature.

And then went to La Jolla.

So that was the second production.

You have to come see it.

And so I took the trip down to Signature Theater, which is in Arlington, Virginia, right outside of D.C., and did.

I think I sat in the audience.

I openly wept.

Today we have a Sondheim-adjacent episode.

I got to sit down with Matthew Gardner here just this past week to discuss the currently playing Merrily We Roll Along at Signature Theatre and then the upcoming production of Follies, also at Signature Theatre.

So there's really no reason to belabor the point.

Matthew has just been sitting here very quietly and patiently.

Hey, it's early.

You know, you've just had a long gestation process getting Marilee Rowland up on stage.

But before we get into anything, if people, I guess, are unaware, you are the artistic director of Signature Theatre.

And Signature has had a huge history of supporting Stephen Sondheim's work in the past.

For those who don't know, Ben is in the ensemble and he played Olaf in Wesselton and Frozen on Broadway.

And it's currently in the ensemble of Pippin at the Signature Theater in DC, which is currently running, which is amazing.

I recommend y'all go check it out.

And yeah, I think you have a lot of things going on to this.

Like, it's just, you have to live like a psycho.

Yeah.

And that doesn't, like, I recently played Fiedka for a short period of time in Fiddler at Signature.

Just, I filled in for the end of the run.
