And the question is, what frat were they in? Was it A, Sigma Phi Epsilon? Was it B, Beta Theta Pi? Was it C, Sigma Nu? Or was it D, Lambda Chi Alpha?

Okay, listeners, I have a great disdain for fraternity life.

He said there was no need to revisit such unpleasant history, and maybe his distaste for unpleasant history was why he refused to be interviewed for a 2001 book about the riots at Ole Miss in 1962, because the author planned to ask him about the cache of weapons that were confiscated by the United States Army when military police raided the Sigma Nu fraternity house the morning after the riot.

By all accounts, Trent Lott, as fraternity president, did his best to keep his brothers inside that night.

But I do wish the Senate Majority Leader had responded to a request for comment about his fraternity stockpiling weapons under his supervision in the days leading up to a riot that was so violent the president had to send in the army.
