Sid Bream

So Tom Kelly comes out to the mound and apparently it was never about taking him out.

They were just asking, do you want to face David Justice or Sid Bream? And apparently, according to Brian Harper, these stories are all up here because they kind of differ from each other.

But you know tom kelly's like i was just asking him who he wants to face and harper recalls it as jack like refusing to walk david justice because he knows he can get him out and tom kelly just repeating no we're gonna walk justice so whatever happened um the the walk to justice which by the way excruciating to sit through an actual intentional walk

like

Yeah.

Yeah.

um so that brings up sid bream a lefty again you're leaving the righty end to face the lefty it just like does not compute in my brain at this stage in the game but when you have an iron horse like jack morris i believe i think jack buck used that exact term to describe him during the broadcast uh a little bit of a battle bream follows off a few pitches but he's about to hit um a grounder to herbeck and um As a first baseman, the 3-6-3 is not easy.

No, there's a lot going on on this.

So now let's see.

Among others, Sid Bream moving around.

And it is Bream, not Monday, who's going to come up and bat.

So with runners at first and third, Lasorda goes to the kids again.

All right, Torrey goes jogging back to the Atlanta dugout.

And here is Sid Bream.

Bream hitting for Hershiser.

Bingo.

Sid Bream.

No, not Sid.

Otherwise, don't show up.

But in the postseason, hopefully, you know, you are that locked in for every single at bat, would be my only explanation for that.

Nathan Bow Hunter for Life says, "What is your favorite Atlanta Braves memory? Mine was watching Sid Bream slide in safe at home with my dad.

All we had to watch it on was a little TV with rabbit ears, uh, wrapped in tinfoil." So that's my favorite memory too, although I wasn't up watching it.

I was actually asleep.

So now let's see.

I mean, that's a, that's one of those highlights you'll see forever, not just on TBS but everywhere.

The, the running of Sid Bream, who can forget him?

Sid Bream.

Who would ever thought Sid Bream, Sid Fleet-a-foot Bream?

[laughs] LSU, another good field position for them.

From their own 43-yard line.

David Justice was at third.

Sid Bream was at second.

Oh, yeah.

Oh, buddy.

Uh, and Francisco Cabrera was the guy hitting.

Yep.

He hit the ball to left field, and God bless Sid Bream's heart.

God loved him.
