Shut Up and Dance

Which is not familiar.

Um, uh, Corbusier Fux answers, "The song Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon and any speaker that's played it."

Forgot about that earworm.

It's not that, but it's a ka-chuh.

Okay, I'll give you a perfect example because we've already announced the song Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon.

There's a word, discotheque, that has an E with an accent over it officially in the way it is written.

Yes.

Song, the podcast where, uh, I don't prepare, and then we slam two songs together and try and argue about which one is better.

This week, we are doing, for God knows what reason [laughs] we are doing Walk the Moon's Shut Up and Dance versus DNCE's Cake by the Ocean.

I never learned how to pronounce that.

Is it dance or is it DNCE?

It was like, this is not music.

[laughs] It was like-

Now, Todd, do you agree, 'cause I listened to both those albums as well, do you agree that both Cake by the Ocean and Shut Up and Dance are just simply, like, the best version of what they were kind of trying to do for the entire album of both? That, like, it seems like they kept trying to th- to get, like, the elements right, and they locked in the best for those two songs, and then everything else is just, like, a very weak, sad, lesser version of those two songs.

That's kinda what I was getting out of it.

Mm-hmm.

With the exception of, like, Walk the Moon, Shut Up and Dance, which I do think is a great song at weddings.

Um, most of the stuff people really- Get excited for is not recent.

'Cause weddings, weddings have a YOLO about them where adults that used to be in the club [laughs] and for a night cosplay a careless person.
