Dan Murray-Dore began his career in public life as Menachem Begin's Cabinet Secretary and continued in that role for Begin's successor, Yitzhak Shamir.

He went on to hold elected office himself, over a 20-year career, beginning with his election to the Knesset in 1983 as an MK for the Likud.

He would go on to hold many important ministerial roles, including, of course, Justice Minister under Shamir, and in later governments as Finance Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and many other things.
