We see your value.

And even the Qur'an says the people of Shu'aib, when they threatened him, they said to him, وَإِنَّ لَنَرَاكَ فِينَا ضَعِيفًا We see you as a nobody.

We see you vulnerable, like you're not tough on your own.

وَلَوْ لَا رَحْطُكَ لَرَجَمْنَاكَ وَمَا أَنْتَ عَلَيْنَا بِعَزِيزٍ And were it not for you having such a strong backing, his non-Muslim family, such a strong backing, we would have stoned you to death and you are worthless in our eyes.

Think of the blessings that Allah has given you when he made you successors after Aad.

The Prophet Shu'ayb says, wadhkuru idh kuntum qaleelan fa kaththarakum.

Reflect, you were a few, Allah made you many more.

The Prophet Musa says, wadhkuru ni'matullahi alaikum idh anjaakum min ali Fir'awn.

Meaning after this previous nation that was mentioned, whether it be the people of Ad or Thamud and Allah knows best, Allah Azza wa Jal says and many other generations came after them.

And that is something which we know throughout the Quran because Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala tells us about the stories of Ibrahim and Lut and Shuaib and many of the stories of Musa and Isa and all of these nations that came.

Allah Azza wa Jal sent down many prophets and me- messengers to every single one of those nations, as Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says in the Quran.

[foreign language] To every nation, we send forth a messenger.

All of his people rejected him and denied him.

And so Allah Azza wa Jal tells us here that this was something which was common amongst the people.

And we see throughout the Quran in the story of Hud and Salih and Ibrahim and Lut and Shuaib, and even in the stories that Allah Azza wa Jal mentions, uh, of the other prophets, that the vast majority of their nations disagreed with them.

They denied them.

Wa ashabul aykati wa qawmu tubba' kullun kadhabar rusula fahaqqa wa'id.

The people of Shu'ayb, the people of the thicket, and the people of Tubba', the king of Yemen, also rejected their messengers.

Every one of these nations denied the messengers Allah sent to them.

So the punishment Allah had warned them of became certain and came upon them.

This is another place.

And this man, by the way, is not Shu'ayb alayhi salam.

A lot of people think that because he is in Median, that he is prophet of Allah, Shu'ayb alayhi salam.

No, the scholars say there is a long time that had passed between Shu'aib and Musa alayhi salam.

So this is Median, yes, but it's not Shu'aib, and it's not the people of Shu'aib.

It is not about your lineage or clan.

"Qalooya shu'aybu ma nafqahu katheeran mimma taqoolu wa lawla rahtuka larajamnak wa ma anta 'alayna bi'azeez." He says, "O Shu'ayb." He says, "We don't understand." The people of Shu'ayb, they're saying, "We don't understand much of what you're saying.

We don't comprehend it.

And if not for your family, we would stone you, and you're not a man of status among us." "Qala ya qawmi arahti a'azzu 'alaikum min Allahi." He says, "O peo- O my people, do you respect my family more than Allah Azzawajal, and you've turned your backs completely on him?" Meaning, you are sparing me because of my family, not because of Allah Azzawajal.
