On a throwback Thursday.

I always get the

backstory wrong, but I just talked about it with Big Mike who runs this place.

Showbiz Pizza Place was the OG.

You mean that Kermit, Texas was named after Kermit Roosevelt?

Then Marsha messed up.

Per Flaunt magazine, quote, in May of 1985, Marsha Lavin sent a letter to her mother describing her eldest son Chris's birthday party at a pizza parlor, showbiz pizza, with a costumed bear for a mascot.

The letter also contained pictures of the Lavin family.

Lavin had the pictures taken privately so they could not be traced.

It was postmarked from Phoenix and sent to a friend of Marsha's mother.

When the FBI raided Marsha's mother's apartment, the letter was confiscated.

The mention of the mascot from the pizza parlor, Billy Bob the Bear, narrowed down the FBI's search to Lynchburg, Virginia and Maryland, the two showbiz pizza outlets inside the area code 804.

So a senior executive at Proton also called parts of the slowdown push totally self-serving.
