Show Your Work!

Hey moonshotters, it's Mike.

As another part of our creativity series, we're going back to a favorite, Austin Kleon's Show Your Work.

The main thing that I actually tried was super simple.

sharing my work earlier.

If last week we were digging into the idea of Steal Like an Artist... inspiration, the concept of creativity and getting vibes as well as permission from individuals.

You know, we touched upon Elizabeth Gilbert, for example.

Finding that permission is now the foundation that we can build on when it comes to the second book that we're going to dig into, Show Your Work, which I think is we're going to reveal and explore and be inspired by today is a little bit more around the idea of sharing.

the idea of finding more inspiration, but also being able to put your work out there, which I think is probably the second hardest thing or maybe the hardest to individuals who want to go out and create.

[laughs]

So I love that, and you know something that you said, it reminded me of Austin Kleon has a book called Show Your Work, [clears throat] and he's got, like, a series of books.

Um, and he, he has this message where he's like, "Sha- share your work and put it out there," um, and you know, "people will find you because of that." I'm curious to understand, like, when you said people saw that, like, did you share it online, or did you show it to friends? 'Cause I feel like getting peop- getting your work out there and showing it to people is a bit tricky.

Um, so I'm curious to know, like, what's your recommendation? Like, is it putting it out there, or is it, like, how did you do that? I'm, I'm just wondering.
