Show Me Heaven

um thankfully if you were born a week later thankfully you weren't because then we'd have had to talk about jive bunny uh and that's what i like um 1990 then, so we're out of the 80s.

Maria McKee and Show Me Heaven.

Which is from...

Days of Thunder.

And I think it does kind of fit the film that it's part of again.

And it's in that era that we don't really get as much anymore of hit songs being used as an advertising campaign for a film.

Yeah, this was like Show Me Heaven, but on steroids.

It was like a massive powerhouse.

First, though, the radio.

The number one single was "Show Me Heaven" by Maria McKee from the Tom Cruise film Days of Thunder.

It had four weeks at the top in all, and it ended up the sixth biggest seller of the whole year.

Uh, McKee had also written "A Good Heart," which was Feargal Sharkey's number one back in '85.

Here's Maria McKee.

[singing] Oh, show me heaven.

Cover me.

Leave me-

Including the cheesy stuff.

I mean, Maria McKee's Show Me Heaven.

What a tune.

Great tune.
