Shoot the Piano Player

He's really impressive.

But the second film that he went on to do that really made an impression was Truffaut's Shoot the Pianist the year after this.

but a very kind of poignant and affecting performance.

Yeah, yeah.

It had a short theatrical run, but definitely check that out.

And then my, uh, in-laws were in town, so we took David and Joanne to the National Gallery of Art to see a screening of Shoot the Piano Player-

... which is a French film from 1960.

Like, I remember watching "Vivre sa vie" from, uh, from Godard.

Uh, funnily enough, I watched a different Tr- uh, Truffaut film, um, "Shoot the Piano Player." Uh, I remember liking both of those movies, but also each of them being, like, w-way over my head.

Like, very much felt like drop in the bucket.

I need to spend a lot more time, like, with these auteurs and this movement to get any sort of, like, legitimate sort of mileage out of this.

Very, very cool.
