SolomonHOST
41:41
I want to say it's considered, like, young comedy type of era.
SolomonHOST
41:48
How technically, like, Shonen is for young boys type shit.
SolomonHOST
41:53
I don't think it's Shonen or Shoujo, which is, like, young boy or young girl.
SolomonHOST
41:57
It's probably just show kid or something.
DylanHOST
41:59
show kid kid show yeah oh shit kid show
MamatsuHOST
3:38
I
ShannonHOST
3:41
don't have Shonen.
ShannonHOST
3:42
Shonen was not on top of my brain right now.
ShannonHOST
3:46
One particular Shonen, but...
MamatsuHOST
3:48
Bleach? The new
ShannonHOST
3:50
Bleach? Bleach is Shonen.
ShannonHOST
3:54
I'm trying not to good dive, but here we go.
ShannonHOST
3:57
We'll just go top 100 for my MDP, so I don't have to go on the freaking Reddit.
BradHOST
5:50
I thought it was good.
BradHOST
5:51
Obviously, sports and Shonen Jump is cursed, so it had to die.
BradHOST
5:55
And I know people had a lot of problems with it, but I think overall it was really good.
Moxie the YeenHOST
6:01
The kids don't like sports.

12 MINS LATER

Moxie the YeenHOST
17:45
It's Shadowrun, but it's not Shadowrun.
Moxie the YeenHOST
17:48
So, before I blather on anymore, Brad, how'd you get along with this?
BradHOST
17:51
I think this is the best first chapter in Weekly Shonen Jump since Ichi the Witch.
BradHOST
17:57
Like, far and away.
UchiHOST
5:37
Mm-hmm.
JoeyGUEST
5:37
Um, like the f- the parody of Shonen that somehow got, got brought over to the West-
UchiHOST
5:42
[laughs]
JoeyGUEST
5:42
... or whatever forever ago.

29 MINS LATER

UchiHOST
35:04
Yep.
UchiHOST
35:04
So yeah.
JoeyGUEST
35:05
Marvel Shonen Jump.
JoeyGUEST
35:06
There's a Marvel Shonen Jump Super Collab that ran from September 3rd of 2019 to November 27th of 2019.
Richard Singleton IIGUEST
9:54
... with it.
Richard Singleton IIGUEST
9:55
But yeah, you, you get to see him go through high school, be bullied, find his rival, you know, f- get a, get on a team, and just watch his journey to get to that, that, that pinnacle of, "I'm the greatest hockey player." So it's Shonen inspired, basically.
Mikel MilesHOST
10:13
Uh, yeah.
Mikel MilesHOST
10:14
Uh, there's not a lot of, um, I mean, there's not a lot of like, you know, Black hockey players nowadays, so it, for this to, this comic to, uh, uh, come out, uh, this is very inspiring for a lot of like, you know, Black kids who wanna get into hockey.
Da'jourGUEST
1:40
That is my baby.
Da'jourGUEST
1:41
I've matured as a man, and now I went from Shonen to Shojo.
Da'jourGUEST
1:47
I feel like that was kind of a shot
Malcolm CrawfordGUEST
1:48
game.

1 HR 14 MINS LATER

Da'jourGUEST
75:55
Like, the fact that he ain't right and mad long, we wouldn't let no one get away with this.
Malcolm CrawfordGUEST
75:58
No, facts.
Malcolm CrawfordGUEST
75:59
His best friend is, like, the CEO of Shonen Jump.
Malcolm CrawfordGUEST
76:01
And that's why he even, like, was able to slide with it this long.
JamesHOST
50:23
I wouldn't put it as a mandatory watch as of yet.
JamesHOST
50:26
If you're suggesting this to someone who just loves Shonen, loves just crazy fights and stuff, or crazy animation and everything, yeah, maybe, but I don't know if you really suggest this to someone with all the...
JamesHOST
50:43
the carnage and just bloodshed that goes on with it i say that and i said alt should be required so take that with a grain of salt i think it just alt has a little bit more story than chainsaw man has right now um i'm sticking to that um if you want if you want to argue with me cool let me know next up we got mob psycho 100 cg magazine has mob psycho 100 at number eight and honestly this one i can get behind mob is such a great character and you have this incredible powerful psychic kid who doesn't actually want to be defined by his powers and this show is really just about growing up and finding yourself making friends trying to be more confident in yourself becoming a better person and reagan i mean reagan is one of the probably one of the greatest characters in anime and i'll stand on that the animation is also incredible and the best part is actually has a complete story three seasons in and out and you don't have to wait 10 plus years to find out where everything goes so yeah mom cycle 100 absolutely a show i'd recommend and i think it is mandatory watching um it'd probably be the first one i would recommend besides full metal alchemist but yeah i totally agree with cg magazine on this and mob psycho is great next up now we're rounding it out before we get into all the top 10s then give you my final top 10 but um BuzzFeed they said the rising of the shield hero is required watching they had it at number 10 for some reason and i'm not saying shield hero is bad but in the top 10 for mandatory watching it's crazy i completely disagree i think you can completely skip out on shield hero only reason i've watched shield hero is because i am an isekai slut so i hey i turned it on and that first season is a chef's kiss second season not so much and i have not gone back to it yet just because how slow that second season was it's mainly i think it's more of a setup for season three but i just haven't gone back to it yet but that first season season was great but would i suggest this to someone off rip no definitely not because of just the implications of of assaults and then the betrayal Everything turns against him and he's forced to build his own party.
JamesHOST
53:15
Great premise, but when you're comparing it to some of these shows that I would recommend, it kind of falls short.
Mike Back At YouHOST
33:29
You know, actually I wanna get into a discussion about this film's tone, uh, in just a minute.
Mike Back At YouHOST
33:33
But I will say that the way that I was able to accept the increasing stupidity of the Fast and Furious films over time, especially like after Fast Five, is to just accept that it's basically a live action Shonen anime series.
Mike Back At YouHOST
33:48
Like you just-
Mike The FabHOST
33:48
Yeah, it's great
speaker_0HOST
3:20
But the biggest differentiator for me and where the series takes a massive risk is the timeline.
speaker_0HOST
3:26
Most Shonen series keep the characters in high school limbo forever.
speaker_1HOST
3:30
But Yosakura family actually hits the gas.
speaker_1HOST
3:32
That time skip is such a bold move.
Geoff ThewHOST
36:23
Like, half the reason that GoHands is still around is because they just, like, crammed as much Fujo bait as they could possibly do into, like, a Battle Royale series.
Geoff ThewHOST
36:35
And then, like, had this one naked floating cat girl just around, like, for every time the Shonen bros got a little uncomfortable, they're like, jangle, jangle.
Geoff ThewHOST
36:45
Jangle, jangle, cat girl ass, jangle, jangle.
Geoff ThewHOST
36:49
And it just, you know, they're like, and it worked.
