Phil Knight sums this up really, really well in his memoir, Shoe Dog.

I don't know if you've ever read it.

No, should I? Shoe Dog by Phil Knight is a phenomenal consumer goods journey of how he built Nike.

And what happens is the people you spend your time with start to rub off on you.

So autobiographies such as Shoe Dog by Phil Knight, the founder of Nike.

Andre Agassi's book is also really good.

There's loads of amazing autobiographies.

Um, I, I love the book, uh, Shoe Dog by Phil Knight.

The, the story of Nike.

Oh.

You are learning this on the job, right? So absolutely.

And have you, I assume you would have read Shoe Dog.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Great book.

And what really helped me a lot is I read a lot of great biographies.

One that comes to mind is like Shoe Dog by Phil Knight.

You know, the guy eats glass for 20 years until he smells success.

And the book actually ends when he signs with Michael Jordan because you don't really win and you don't actually learn anything from the wins.

It's okay to lose.

If you lose, you're going to learn and you can take something away from it.

And like we talked about with Shoe Dog, you don't really learn anything when you win.

You know, like when you lose, you're going to learn something, dah, dah, dah.

What book would you recommend to our audience and why?

How many times have people recommended Shoe Dog? A lot? A few, a few.

Okay, interesting.

I was like, I'm going to do like the easiest one.

You know, I think they're a fun way because it's like not just like business advice.

They actually just tell their story.

And I think Shoe Dog's the best example of that, which is Phil Knight's.

I also just read Bob Iger's CEO of Disney, which is a ride of a lifetime, which is a slightly different take, more corporate, but it's like a cool story of his journey.

I would add that The thing I'm in it for, so I made this comment on X the other day in response to one of Nick Shackelford's posts.

But I think if you guys have read the book, Shoe Dog, Phil Knight at the end of the book, I forget exactly how he words it, but he's basically got the, he ends the book by basically telling people to never stop.

But he the nuance of that is he's like, but it's OK to quit things along the way.

You know, so like my view of this is I'm I'm just committed to building brands and being in consumer and just being in marketing.

A bird just flies into the window.

The notice on its leg is just, just read Shoe Dog.

Worth a look.
