Shlomo Hamelech

You know what you learn from me? If you want to be successful, you have to get ready to have challenges.

But we also know that, like, through the wars, the older Rabanim who wrote the biggest sefarim- David HaMelech All through the- Talmud Bavli.

Where the Talmud Bavli was written? You know, the Gemara in the Yerushalayim is the Talmud Yerushalmi.

Lehora, we have a rule.

Oh.

When a person is in a challenge in his life, either if it's refuah, health issues, either if it's parnassah, finance issues, either if it's chinuch yeladim, education, either if it's shalom bayit, which book is open? Sefer Tehillim.

I want to understand, why to open the book of David HaMelech if I have the book of God, of Hashem? Why we ne- we never find that when a person is in a tzarah, you see the whole shul opening Sefer Bereshit and start, "Bereshit bara Elokim et hashamayim ve'et ha'aretz, ve'ha'aretz hayetah." Why? Why you see, you hear everyone, "Shir Hamalot.

Mizmor le'David be'ot bo ba'me'arah tefilah." Why? Why not, "Bereshit bara Elokim..." Everyone will repeat after you.

Comes along the Bala Turim and says the following.

The Bala Turim says that when Shlomo HaMelech wrote Kohelet, he told us in this cryptic passage, there's a time, Eitla, Eitla Mut, time to be born, time to die, 8X, 8Y, right? He goes through all of the epochs.

Says the Bala Turim, listen to this unbelievable concept.

He says like this, Shlomo HaMelech, when he composed with his wisdom and prophecy, Kohelet, he had Zayin Psukim.

There are seven verses.

And in those Eik Laledet, Eik Lamut series, seven Psukim, 28 phrases.

When did the gaon live?

He was born in 1720, dies in 1797.

If the Torah world would have more respect and appreciation for the other side, The other side, however you're defining, would have more appreciation for the Torah world.

This is what Shlomo HaMelech says in Mishle.

I quote this Pesach a million times.

I'll quote it a million and one times.

It was coming to teach you the great compensation of those who are involved in living a life of kindness.

We have Megilat Shir Hashirim, which talks all about a Mashal that Shlomo HaMelech wrote, a parable about the love between us and Hashem.

We have Megilat Kohelet, written also by Shlomo HaMelech, talking about the nothingness of this world, the fakeness of this world.

We're not asking you to know what's inside of them, but at least know the names.

Shirat Shirim, Kohelet.

When a person is blessed, he's given an assignment.

And when a person who's blessed doesn't step up the way he was given, then that will become his detriment.

That's why the Pasuk says, that Shlomo HaMelech says, that there's a osher, there's a type of wealth.

And

as the verse says, like the verse in Mishlei, excuse me, in Kohelet, Shlomo HaMelech says, A heart of a wise person is to the right.

A heart of a ksil, what is a ksil?

Foolish person.

We are in Perek Hey, Paseq Yod Tes, chapter five, verse nineteen.

Shlomo HaMelech is in the middle of a very complicated mashal, which shifts throughout chapter five because he's essentially, officially, he's talking about wisdom.

As chapter five begins, "Beni, my son, lachach maasi, achiva, pay attention to my wisdom and all the good things that wisdom will bring you, as opposed to all the terrible things that you-- will happen to you if you don't have wisdom." And so then he created this mashal.

The language he used is, "Kinofes titof nesif sezar," the lips of the stranger, they drip with this poison.

[speaks in foreign language] And so the mitzvahs and your angels who will speak good for you in the future, those, those are the fruits of this.

And as we say, [speaks in foreign language] we say this every day, these are the things of which you eat the fruits in this world, but the, the principle remains for the next world.

Why are we using the term fruits? Because you're not just doing things, you're producing things, and producing wisdom and Torah and mitzvahs and learning, is it-- we should see it that way, and that's why, um, Shlomo HaMelech is using this mashal, this metaphor, because usually we have trouble recognizing the accomplishments that are intangible.

He wants us to look at the Torah wisdom that you've acquired, like that's a house full of, of collected items that you've collected, a-and even though you have that, nevertheless, it's always renewed.

You have to do it yourself.

But that which Shlomo HaMelech said, as we mentioned before in Mishlei, that through kindness and through truth, a sin will be atoned.

He's speaking about the Baal Tshuva, the person who does repent.

If he repents, then Chesed and Emeth will help him to get atonement.

His, uh, "Lecha kol mashma'anim shesu lamtakem".

I'm gonna eat everything and indulge, like Shlomo HaMelech says in Kohelet, you know, I, I decided to-- "Mi kol asher ro'ei einay lo yatzalti mimenu".

I, I partake in everything and it's a milah and I mekadesh everything.

But that's not chesed.
