In a final twist of fate, an unrecognizable, shaved-headed Barrett unexpectedly walked into Abbey Road Studios, During the final mixing sessions for the multi-part epic Shine On You Crazy Diamond, a jarring event that deeply shook the band members and underscored the album's themes of lost innocence and missing connection.

Musically, the record just deposes David Gilmour's soul-stirring guitar work and Richard Wright's atmospheric synthesizers against Roger Waters' razor-sharp lyricism.

Beyond the personal grief that the band felt at the time for Sid Barrett, the album delivered a very biting cynical critique of the corporate music industry.

It featured the iconic photo of a businessman literally being burned by a corporate handshake.

And yes, we are going to say iconic an awful lot this episode because there's a lot of iconic things that happened, including this album.

It was really mixed.

We got the perfect day.

We played Dark Side of the Moon before the eclipse, and then we took a break, the eclipse happened, and the song we played right after the eclipse was Shine On You Crazy Diamond.

Spent A long time learning it, note for note, getting the tones exactly right.

He just, for some incredible reason, picked the very day that we were doing a song which was about him.
