There's also, you know, one of the things they're doing is providing a safe haven for these companies and stopping any kind of criminal prosecution from other states.

Well, now, this is the first lawsuit with states going against other states with shield laws.

Now, this is going to be interesting.

After Dobbs, states are trying to expand their ability to restrict women, and basically saying, if you live in our state, the internet, you cannot go beyond our state borders to find help for your pregnancy.

And by the way, only one of those has FDA approval, and it's certainly not anthrax or mail bombs.

So on Wednesday, three abortion ban states, Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas, filed two lawsuits going after abortion shield laws and the doctors those laws protect.

One of those lawsuits was filed straight with the Supreme Court against New York, California, and Massachusetts.

Those are shield law states.

But I digress.

So because the shield laws are basically like, fuck you, the ban states went crying to the Supreme Court.

And if you think about history, we've been here before.

It is more sweeping.

It could be the thing that finally gets the Supreme Court to weigh in on this issue, right? It's a very, very big legal question, something that constitutional scholars have believed since the enactment of SHIELD laws will ultimately be settled by the Supreme Court.

However, I think it's really important for us to take this suit with context.

As you mentioned, there are so many cases making their way through the courts right now around how people get abortions, the provision of Mifeprostone, SHIELD laws, et cetera, et cetera.

We don't know which one will end up at the Supreme Court.

We don't know how courts will rule.
