I recently re-watched a good portion of Basic Instinct.

Oh, yeah? I've never seen Basic Instinct.

And I went, flew to Hawaii to meet my family, and my boyfriend was supposed to come, and we were gonna have a, a party there.

And my good friend lives in Hawaii, this, this guy named Shep Gordon.

And I was...

And we were gonna have this party over at my friend's house.

So I was watching the documentary, and basically it's about a gentleman

named Shep Gordon.

GQ magazine did an article on him calling him the most unfamous man who made everyone famous.

So he created the whole celebrity chef movement.

So they didn't know what to do.

Anyway, I don't know how, but they found me through Alice Cooper's management company, a guy named Shep Gordon manages Alice, and I was contacted by him through another intermediary, and they hired me to authenticate Alice's painting.

It was real.

100% correct.

Wow.

And in fact, I ended up going to New York and I met Alice.

There was a book signing for his manager, Shep Gordon.

Wrote a book called Super Mench.

So it's easy to see why so many people had a hard time dealing with that, you know.

Yeah, Shep Gordon, who we're both friends with.

I love Shep.

I met him in Hawaii, but he was on the podcast.

So my first question is gonna be, um, to people that don't know what an Impact Artist Management is, what a manager is, what, what...

Can you describe that in layman's terms?

Yeah.

Like, a, a, a manager, y- you know, I think the job oc- occupation has probably changed over the years.

Mm-hmm.

Um, and I've been doing it for a long time.

I mean, initially, we were the go-between mainly for the artist and labels in terms of, you know, recording, setting up that record for release, marketing it w- in conjunction with the record company, but also being a day-to-day personal manager for the artist and their needs, you know? Obviously, it, their needs are different when they're home recording than it is, say, on the road doing dates, you know?

Yeah.

Yeah, well, I morphed into the music business simply by starting to work for Alice's long-term manager, a very famous guy, a well-known guy named Shep Gordon.

Shep's still around, still manages Alice.

I started working for him and Alice when I first went out to California.

And he didn't do any drinking or drugs.

Well, the drugs might have been steroids, but you never know.

And so they go, OK, well, we got to go over and meet his manager, this guy, Shep Gordon, who I'd read about and stuff.

So we went over and met Shep at his office in New York.

He was given $3 million by Alive Films.

which was run by Andre Blay and Shep Gordon, who was Alice Cooper's manager.

And

carpenters said they don't even get to read the script before approving the deals, and only submit basic concepts to them in a short paragraph.
