Shelly Johnson

was larry dean stanton so it could be lds like mormons

oh sorry i got i got brian on the brain i'd forgotten about mormons um yeah i also wish that thank you and also because of mormons anyway he comes up and she's like oh god becky drove off i need your help and carl summons his trusty steed carl takes out a whistle and like blows a like shrieking whistle note into it and it feels like gandalf whistling for shadow facts into the lord of the rings because he just blows his whistle note and then his guy i guess bill shows up driving the fucking like vw which i wonder if that's a product placement although those cars do just have that libu on it and big ass and it's just kind of how they are And he takes them into town, and Shelly's saying all that happens, then he ends up...

He just has a little radio himself that calls the dispatcher lady at the police station.

What's up with

You know, she's not asking the questions.

She's not later angry at her daughter for stealing her car and then basically hitting her with the car in a way.

So as as Shelly leaves, we see Norma, who is like very much her mother figure, just kind of sitting there a little exasperated.

She like she takes it.

And I think we certainly see it reflected in this scene, which is an interesting mix of old Cole, if you will.

Like, I think you're right to point out that it absolutely calls back to him sort of pitching woo at Shelly Johnson.

Right.

And the story of it was a brief but touching funeral.

I would have loved to have talked to her, but again, yeah, for the dreamers path, I made sincere efforts to, you know, track down every scene partner that he shared the screen with and then for the stuff that he did voice work for, that kind of field of focus narrowed a little bit.

I would reach out to the writers and directors of those projects.

But yeah, I think it's a funny scene and that it does serve as a callback a little bit to Shelly Johnson, the last scene with Shelly Johnson from scene two, where he's kind of impressing her with this story of daring do.

And apparently this is part of, you know, Gordon Cole's modus operandi, right? It's part of his romantic playbook, I guess.

She's a young woman who catches attention, blah, blah, blah.

At this time, she was already known for playing Shelly Johnson on Twin Peaks.

She would later appear in Dream Lover, Gilmore Girls, Riverdale, where she played Alice Cooper.

Funny, Alice Cooper.

He asked me to meet him at the drying shed.

Shelly was there tied up inside.

I think a bomb went off." I have-

You know who that man was? Leo Johnson.

I, I would think, 'cause there has to be somewhere for this storyline to go.

But to what Petey said, Petey, would you like to talk about what happens next where Audrey and Bobby talk as they're leaving Ben Horne's office? Yeah.

Maybe Shelly has something to worry about because Audrey and Bobby are gonna go get ice cream together.

He says cup or cone.
