Shelby County

He notched back-to-back runner-ups at Eldora this past Friday and Saturday, but then High Limit finally got Kokomo and it was rained out Wednesday night, so then they moved it to Sunday, but it was worth the wait.

Tanner Holmes dominated, led all 35 laps for just his second career High Limit victory after winning at Shelby County, Iowa back in June.

This was also the finale of the Rotor Rooter midweek series with Brent Marks securing the title by 15 points over Aaron Reitzel and getting a $25,000 payday.

Also notable, Chase Randall finishing second, his best career High Limit finish, and Dason Pursley fresh off his Silver Crown win at Eldora finishing third.

But I want you to continue hearing directly from the farmers themselves.

Shelby County farmer James Tucker, that means the combine comes out of the garage [combine rumbling] as corn, soybean, and wheat are all brought in.

We're going ahead with harvest and trying to get it picked as, as quick as we can to get it in, uh, delivered or in the bins.

[machinery rumbling]

Seton Catholic in Farley Piazza.

Shelby County, Sheldon County Catholic School.

Sheldon Community School District, Solon.

South Central Calhoun, South Winnisheek, Southeast Polk.

We're already up to speed and you just know what to expect.

And then again, along with that, you, you figure out what does it take to show up to a place and not know it, you know, maybe like a Shelby County or something, how we won there, like, you know, how to not know the place, but then pretty much figure it out in about two laps.

So yeah, it's uh it's not easy to do but that's why you know you know all these top guys on both the outlaw tour are both high limit like they can they can roll in and and and just you know again stand on the throttle and be pretty dang close right away so that's what you're competing against so i we've kind of gotten to the point where it's like hey we're just we're going to figure this out because that's what it's going to take and and then if we do get the opportunity to go to a track you know maybe it's a chance to try things you know during three nights being at the same place and and and really you know uh you know, not be stuck in a box.

Like if we have a couple nights to get this thing better.

But the cool part is, is you get to share some of those weekends with your sister, Carly.

She's a crew member on Logan Shewhart's team.

And I know she was there for your win at Shelby County Weekend.

What's that been like in kind of seeing her chase a different dream that maybe she didn't start out with wanting to be a racer, but now she's getting to work on a national touring team as well?

The $10 million fund will help provide grants to schools to address the negative impacts of social media and to start resource officer programs.

R.J. Bielenberg is a Shelby County deputy and school resource officer in Harlan.

He says SROs can help address online harassment and bullying, which can help prevent threats in schools.

An SRO isn't simply an officer who sits in a school waiting for something to happen.

Right.

But these are two men of peace, ambassadors of peace and of Jesus Christ, who will be taking up ministry in Shelby County and five of the parishes there.

So kind of a new chapter of ministry and service and all that they're about.

So we'll have a little social for them.
