He was a very big star of that period.

Moving into, in fact, the talkies, his really big film was a film called She Done Him Wrong, which is kind of romantic comedy with Mae West.

But he succumbed to alcoholism and died again quite early.

But then his brothers, so he was the best known of the Moore brothers, but his brothers, Matt Moore, Joe Moore, Tom Moore and their sister Mary all had careers, substantial careers on the big screen during that period.

And for those of you who don't know, Mae was a sex symbol in the 1930s and early 40s.

She was known to be very brassy, bold, didn't care about pretty much anything she would go for test out the waters was very progressive for the time she wrote many stories plays and screenplays including today's movie which is she done him wrong and she done him wrong is the first starring role for mae west in 1933 this is just before the haze code censorship galore so she got in just under the cusp but As with Mae West, she had to push the envelope so much that the censorship and the Hays Code to go even further than what they had previously.

And of course, you've got pinnacle of it is mae west just bumping along just giving her innuendos left and right going after man after man just for her diamonds and she has a lot of diamonds in this movie and what's fascinating is uh she came to be a symbol of diamonds almost because in her first film role which was uh called night after night she had one moment where she goes drops off her coat to the coat check lady.

And the woman goes, goodness, what lovely diamonds.

And

especially, yes, exactly.

Especially in She Done Him Wrong, which first started off as a play on Broadway.

And the play ran for, I believe, 323 performances.
