Sharp Teeth

Yes, moving from the suburbs to the city.

Because if Mrs. Caliban brings the monster into the kitchen, Toby Barlow's Sharp Teeth unleashes the monster into the concrete jungle, like the aqueducts and the alleyways of LA.

Sharp Teeth is an incredibly ambitious piece of literature.

It tackles the werewolf mythos, but it completely strips away the Gothic castles and full moons.

No howling at the moon on a misty moor?

But you know the narrative mechanism that really elevates this book from just standard urban fantasy is its format.

Oh, right, the format.

Barlow wrote Sharp Teeth entirely in free verse.
