Crews with the State Department of Transportation pumped the water out and conduct-- conducted several tests before deeming the bridge safe.

It was a good day for the fishing boats that got stuck in the marina behind that Route 71 bridge over Shark River, being stuck in the down position all week between Belmar and Avon-by-the-Sea.

The nor'easter flood damage dried out.

The bridge's control room got a little TLC and started lifting again late this morning.

They left Berkeley for Seaside Park back in the spring.

And speaking of the shore, the Route seventy-one drawbridge over Shark River is now lifting again for that boat traffic between Belmar and Avon-by-the-Sea.

Fishing boats were trapped from going out during the height of fishing season after the bridge's control room got flooded during the nor'easter.

Francisco and Grace Weiser Vasquez had planned to hold their wedding outdoors at a golf country club last Saturday, but things went downhill fast with the weather as strong winds and heavy rain moved in from the nor'easter.
