Sharenting

You have kind of coined this term sharenting.

What is sharenting?

Sharenting in my book, literally and metaphorically, refers to all the ways that parents, but also all other trusted adults in children's lives, transmit private information about them digitally.

So I can't claim I was the first to use sharenting, but I can say that the definition that I have offered of it in the book I wrote, Sharenthood, and throughout my work is more expansive than a lot of definitions of it, which tend to focus on how parents specifically think talk about kids on social media.

And while I think what parents say or don't say about kids on social media is a huge part of sharenting, I don't think it is the only part.

The documentary features this one woman who basically her whole life she grew up in front of the camera, just damaged in the trauma that it did to her.

But in this documentary, I think it's called Sharenting, like sharing and parenting, making content around parenting, whatever.
