You grew up in Miami, right? Your dad was a, was, was he a pro soccer player or

was? Yeah, he played soccer.

He used, you know, originally from Trinidad and Tobago and he had a few trials in England before he came back.

to school instead of actually, you know, pursuing his career.

You know, that time was a little bit different.

He was more focused on going to school.

And, you know, that was the more sure bet than trying to go pro.

Shaq, what's your feeling about how how this this World Cup and the way the U.S. has been is representing Argentina? the country and the sport, how do you think that's going to impact even, even MLS when you guys come back after world cup? I mean, it's gotta have like the women's world cup, you know, how that changed the perspective way back when, um, do you think it's time for the men to have that same moment?

Yeah, for sure.

So basically a transfer fee is when a club has your rights and another team wants to buy you.

There are a lot of teams that have a, a buyout clause in your contract.

So mine was, I think...

I can't remember what it was, but say it's, let's say it's five million.

The team that owns you has the right to, to say no or yes, right? So it starts at five, and after that it can be, you can go a little bit under or it can go a bit lower.

What does that, what's that strategy look like?

So for you as a soccer player in the United States, what was your path leading up to... 'Cause you played club, obviously, and went pro at 18, but talk to me about your upbringing and the route that you took to get to where you were.

Yeah, so I started off in, in Fort Lauderdale, and like I said, played for a small club, uh, called Lauderhill Lions.

Uh, really developed me as well.

And then, uh, moved to Atlanta.

Parents got a better job there, more opportunities, so I moved to Atlanta and started playing for a local team as well, uh, called Smyrna Stealth.

And, um, really small team.

Not as big as, like, the Concords.

Really hard question.

Did you ever have to play in Mexico City? Where in Mexico would you play?

We usually play at Azteca, which is one of their most famous stadiums.

Those games are always tough.

It looks insane in the stadium.

It's like 80,000 or 100,000 Mexicans just against you.

Everything you do, they're booing you or whistling you.

How do they get you ready for that? If you've not experienced it, what do they tell you? Well, just to be ready for a battle, honestly.

So what does that mean within your organization at Dallas? Like you're the guy, young guys come to you to be like, what up? Like, what's up?
