Mm.
12:11
Or I deserve to try it at least so that I have no regrets at the end of the day.
12:16
So oftentimes they'll have this amazing idea and they'll be ready, but there's just so much hesitancy.
12:24
And so I think, I wanna say that that's really the first step, and I think that's why having that accountability partner, whether it's a best friend or a coach, like, someone who can just be there with you while you're taking those hard steps and hold your hand through it.
12:38
Because it's so easy to say, "This is what I wanna do, but oh, it's so much safer right here where I've been," and to just give up on it.
12:45
So I think, yes, it's hard to, like, make that first phone call or put yourself out there.
12:50
But I think first it's getting yourself in a place to know that- You deserve to try it, and that you actually can do it.
13:55
Yeah
5:10
Could you share any tips or advice for someone looking to improve their productivity habits?
5:17
Yes, I think, again, it's saying, okay, what is the goal that I want to get out of this idea or this meeting, whether you're solo or with your team, and say, okay, I can come up with this idea, but how am I going to implement it after? So often we have meetings or we come up with an idea, but then nothing happens afterwards.
5:37
So I think to really up the productivity, it's to make that plan for afterwards.
5:43
So, okay, well, this is the goal.
5:44
This is how I think I'm going to get there.
5:46
How am I going to implement that over the next 30 days, three months, year, and have those check-ins with yourself or with your team to really get that feedback? What's going on? How far are we moving? Are we checking off those boxes to achieve what it is that we're working towards? And I think that allows you to have that accountability, right? And just really know that you're on the way to your end goal.
6:13
And it doesn't have to all be today, but you're checking those little boxes, taking those baby steps to get there.
6:31
So finally, what should I have asked you today that I didn't, Shannon? And your answer, please.
7:24
When someone comes to you for a second act career, how do you get them to start thinking about this? And what are the steps that they need to take?
7:32
Oh, great question.
7:34
And it's different for everyone, and I acknowledge that.
7:36
I am certified in UMAP, which is a career assessment, personality kind of assessment.
7:41
So I start with a UMAP with all of my clients, and it just shows your personality, your values, your strengths, your skills, so that... what you're good at and what you like to do so that when you move to that second act career, you're not just jumping to a new path, doing the same thing you already do that makes you unhappy.
8:01
It really directs you.
8:02
So I do that at first.
13:02
But sounds like you help them create a business plan.
