Shannon Gaels GAA

They, they know how to play football, and they know how to win this intermediate title, Derek.

They're battle-hardened this year, extra time in the semifinal, you know, a last-minute goal in the quarterfinal, losing the opening game against Clondalkin, having to come back against Shannon Gaels down at halftime, down at halftime against Liscanor.

I think they haven't won a first half, actually.

Now, I could be wrong, but I think they've trailed in every game at halftime.

Now we mightn't show it in, in terms of championships, but we're definitely very proud of what we have and who we have.

And we'll go through some of those guys, Gerry, that represented the county and all, but I was just saying to you outside, it's, it's fitting maybe in a lot of ways that one of the big, um, first records of the club is a game against Labasheeda because we know that there's, there was always a massive rivalry between Kilmihil and Shannon Gaels being neighbors, that's natural.

But isn't it amazing-

Yeah

... how, how the wheel turns, Gerry, and, and next thing it's, you know, at underage, Kilmihil and Shannon Gaels come together in both clubs' greatest time of need maybe to keep things going and, and maybe put old wounds aside.

And you know what? The great thing about it is that they gel very well together, and I actually recall a conversation with mother of a young fella from Shannon Gaels, and she was supporting [laughs] her young fella.

Um, we were playing in Division II, um, together, and I think we were playing in Division IV on our own, and her son made a comment like that he didn't like playing against Kilmihil, but he, he liked playing with them.

Okay.
