But why, Shan? I hear you asking.

Why do some people like paint or tentacle stuff or wearing diapers? Wherefore art thou kinky? Well, compared to other sex-related topics, there hasn't been a ton of research about kinks.

But from what studies have been done so far, the answer may be, a lot of reasons.

And there's trust, fun, and delight for everybody involved.

We've, like, gotten to see and witness people in so many different walks of life and different types of relationships, whether it's non-monogamy, whether it is...

I just saw Shan Boodram did a whole thing about vanilla non-monogamy.

I thought that was really fascinating.

Yeah.

That's her husband of 60 years.

It reminded me of, remember when the therapist, Shan Boodram, came on? And she said she has an open relationship but no cheating? Like, their relationship is just, like, they can flirt with other people.

Yeah.

That was the basis of her relationship.

So I felt just really excited, really intrigued, and honestly, sometimes for me, you know, being in the podcast space for 10 years now, the sex conversations I feel like I've heard and I've had, but this one felt really new and fresh.

And I actually really loved that Xander, her husband, came So I was actually at a friend's house, Shan Boodram, and we were talking about my interview with Vanessa, and she had had Vanessa on her podcast a few weeks ago, and she's like, "Having Xander was such an add to the interview." And so it's such a beautiful thing that we could have this married couple that's been together for a long time break down what it means to be in a long-term intimate relationship.

Also, so we could get the guy perspective of what it's like to be with a successful, powerful woman.
