Uh, he was the guy who I'd had on my, on, on a pre- on a previous pod- You know, was going into the draft and, uh, you know, he's a guy that came out of nowhere for the, for the Broncos, and he really, you know, he, he probably, you know, it kind of proves that D- Denver can find hidden gems anywhere.

I mean, Shane Ray, you know, their, their linebacking crew is sick.

Barrett, you know, Shaq, you know, ha- killed it in the, in the regular season and the postseason.

Um, but that's, you know, this is a, you know, just a p- little preview of what, uh, you can see tonight on, um, opening night.

Now point number four, uh, so, and you've talked a lot about the defensive line already, and when I look at this season and compare it to last year, last year we had some dogs playing on D line.

Malik Carney, Shane Ray, Micah Johnson, Mi- Mike Rose.

Remember Trevor Harris making a comment in the 2025 season when it was really dominating, when he's basically practicing against the D line, where Mike Rose was your fourth best D line.

Well, we lost Carney, we lost Ray, we lost Micah Johnson, who's now one of our coaches.

... huge, right?

Mike, Mike Johnson as a player is too, right?

And, and yeah, and, uh, Shane Ray as well, right?

Uh-huh.

Um, but like, a great roll of the dice in the fourth round, which again, maybe the highly drafted edges haven't totally worked out.

I guess I'm mostly thinking Shane Ray.

Mm-hmm.

But I mean, the guys drafted later on, Benito Ellis-

We're missing Malik Carney.

We're missing Shane Ray.

And we're missing Micah Johnson.

To me, there's no consistent pass rush.

So I don't know if Darius Hopkins – and kitchen are obviously not that level of guy, but could you rush all three on one play? Like have somebody line up inside like, uh, Coney Ely used to do.

And then Shane Ray and Michael Sam or Shane Ray, Marcus golden or Sam and gold would rush up the outside.

I don't know, but Hopkins needs to be getting a crap ton of snaps.

He's unbelievable.
