Shane Leaning

A teacher keeps missing a deadline, and you know they're struggling at home.

Well, how do you take their circumstances seriously while protecting what the pupils and colleagues need? [upbeat music] Hey, I'm Shane Lean.

Welcome to Education Leaders, the chat-topping international podcast for leaders in schools around the world.

I'm an author and organizational coach, and in this show, I bring you the practical ideas and honest conversations to help you lead with confidence and clarity.

You may still have to make a choice someone finds difficult.

But give yourself time to explain your reasoning, listen to people affected, and review how that decision is working.

Education Leaders is hosted by me, Shane Fleming.

Thanks to the show editor Pete McGill, production assistant Skylar Rose Sterman, and for the original music by Guilherme Silva.

It's a long time since I recorded a solo episode, and I have a great one for you today.

It was amazing in the last season meeting so many school leaders, learning so much information from them, and even the last couple of episodes, if you've not listened to them, we have had Shane Leaning, who is an organizational coach working internationally, and Arjan van den Douwe was in the last episode who shared with us all about his role as an interim principal over in the Netherlands.

He's designed a leadership course for school leaders over there and has worked with so many school leaders.

So I encourage you to go back and have a listen to those because they are excellent and wonderful to be learning from others outside of the Irish education field.

And you'll hear a lot less of me than usual, and I'll explain that in a minute.
