Yeah, and I think the one thing that has set our content apart from others is that we aren't swayed by influencers.

You know, a couple of years ago we were critical of the fact that Shameless seemed to go easy on a couple of Melbourne influencers because they were then in their orbit and they became friendly.

And that's something that we've always been really mindful of.

'Cause I personally wouldn't wanna listen to a podcast where I know some people are being favored purely because they move in the same friendship circles.

Or were you simply just, uh, a bit amateurish when it came to interviews? You hadn't experienced what it's like to answer something that involves a story involving a bunch of other people.

You made a mistake, which we all have.

Like, early days of Shameless, I shared stories about people I love so dearly, and I hurt them unintentionally, because everyone has different boundaries.

Completely.

How did this all begin? Like what's like, how did you first get into, did you study journalism? Like I'm always interested in, yeah, I'm always interested in how people go.

Cause we spoke to Ruby Hall from Shameless and I'm like, I did not know that she came into it like late and was like, you know.

I feel like I came into it late.

Okay.

Oh, we talk about pop culture Venn diagrams

I would say Grand Theft Auto VI doesn't neatly belong in the Shameless podcast pop culture Venn diagram.

I was more of a V-Rally girl.

The fuck is that? [laughs]

I would say, generally, when this pops up, the Shameless podcast take is, "Ah, they're similar, but, like, we can't, let's not die on this tiny hill."

Yeah, music is complicated, and often it can be, um, really tough for artists, particularly young artists, when this stuff pops up.

talking about who are these girls like

what is this and it really gives you this like insight into who they are and what they're about and I think that that's the whole crux of podcasting is people are coming back to your show there's the educational element obviously or the entertainment element but at the end of the day like people have a parasocial relationship with the hosts they like the way that you interview or they like the way that you speak to each other or the inside jokes that you have so I think what Shameless does is so brilliant because it's just this tiny little snapshot of their dynamic and what they talk about in a way that like gives people like a full picture of what their content is about.
