Shall We Gather at the River?

I will sing And Can It Be.

I will sing Shall We Gather at the River.

Oh, yes.

Where Bright Angels' Feet Have Trod.

So a minister was completing a sermon on temperance, and with great emphasis, he said, "If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river." With even greater emphasis, he added, "And if I had all the wine in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river." Caught up in the fervor of the moment, he shook his fist heavenward and bellowed, "And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river." His sermon completed, the minister sat down to catch his breath, and the worship leader stood and tried hard to keep a straight face.

He announced, "For our closing hymn, let us all sing number 365, Shall We Gather at the River?" [laughs] That is funny.

Praise God.

Well, I want you to look with me at Proverbs 11 verse 30.

... and it's back to normal speed.

And, and so you had people cued on when to be singing Shall We Gather at the River and when to slow it down, and then it comes back up, you know? So yeah, it makes sense that, like, you know, you're, you're...

Yeah, I, I come back to it makes a lot of sense that when you select a play, you're looking at how, how are, how am I able to make all of this kinda come to the fore.

And again-

Thank you.

Abba, Father.

Amen.

Shall we gather at the river Where bright angels' feet have trod With its crystal tide forever Flowing from the throne of God YES, WE'LL GATHER AT THE RIVER THE BEAUTIFUL, THE BEAUTIFUL RIVER GATHER WITH THE SAINTS AT THE RIVER THAT FLOWS FROM THE THRONE OF GOD

Ere we reach the shining river Lay we every burden down Grace our spirits will deliver And provide a robe and crown
