Shaky Knees Music Festival

Here's our next listener question.

I recently had a very good time at the Shaky Knees Festival where I saw quite a few ground scores.

I know I'm on the older side of festival goers or at least it feels that way, but I feel like a real prude being shocked that there would be so much drug use at concerts with all the risk of fentanyl that's out there.

I know people try to use drugs responsibly, but do things like drug testing strips from Amazon actually work?

This is one of those things that, like, I think everyone who was involved thinks I'm making it up, and I, on my son's life, this is how it happened.

Uh, I was at Shaky Knees.

The day got rained out.

There was a band there called Youth Devile that one of the gals in our friend group really wanted to see.

Mm-hmm.

And everyone's trying to, like, have good spirits.

So this gal in our friend group was like, on their page, we're getting Shaky Knees updates, and she had tagged Zoran.

She'd just moved to New York.

Well, I don't know.

I don't wanna just always wear the shirt because I've got the shirt, and, you know, but if it's one that's like, oh, that's from a tour that other fans will appreciate that I went to that tour or something, sure, why not? Like, I wore my Pavement shirt to Shaky Knees because there weren't that many Pavement fans there.

Most people were fans of the, the bigger bands, the, the ones that were closer to the headliners.

And so it's like, okay, I can find my Pavement tribe.

I think they're, it's a bigger question because they headlined a lot of festivals this year.

Um, they were down at Shaky Knees the weekend before.

Um, and so do...

I mean, I'm gonna get so much hate.

They're just smaller.

And it, I f- compared to, like, the four-day festivals with the eight freaking stages or however many, um, t- no, I don't think they need to be headlining all of those.

I don't think they needed to be headlining Shaky Knees.

Um, but if that's what the fans want, like, cool.

Like, life moves on.

Oh, uh, uh, d- I mean, couple weeks since freaking Shaky Knees.

That feels like forever ago.

Yeah, that does.

Maybe we're just playing.

I started wanting to go probably back in March whenever I knew it existed.

And I wasn't going to think I was going to swing it because I went Shaky Knees last weekend, as did you guys.

So I was really excited for you guys to message me the day after Shaky Knees and put another festival on my lineup for the year.

Maybe this one won't get canceled.

Oh, I hope not.

We can get everybody in there.
