I was like, I could die happy now, you know.

But then, yeah, probably a year and a half later, his manager emailed me and was like, can you do this string of gigs? You know, and after the it was like a four night run at SF Jazz after the gig, you know, they were like, well, the gig's yours if you want it.

And I was like, are you kidding me? Like, yes, of course I want it, you know.

But my dad, he played tenor saxophone and Maceo was a huge influence on him.

Marcus Miller, as I mentioned, appearing Friday night, September 25th, at Yo-- um, Yoshi's.

At SFJAZZ.

Show starts at 7:30, and we did have a ticket winner.

They went around and interviewed everybody, people from Braintree, people from PayPal, people from the early days.

And so we did a conversation at the SF Jazz Center this week on stage with Sam and Ikram.

I wish I'd been invited.

Sounds delightful.

And he's got a great band.

There's also Marcus Miller, the bass player, who played with Miles Davis, who's going to be at SF Jazz September 24th through 27th.

But...

The one I am excited about is Charles Tolliver.

He's coming around doing a tribute to John Coltrane's album, Africa Brass, which is a rare, almost big band album for John Coltrane.

And Charles Tolliver has a lot of experience writing and leading a big band album.

I think that's going to be really exciting, and that's October 25th at SF Jazz.
