Seymour

In April 2003, a young woman was reported missing from a town some 25 miles from the Berlin Turnpike.

Melanie Ruth Cannellini, she was from Seymour, Connecticut.

She went missing from the city of Waterbury.

She was the mother of two, dearly loved by her family.

Let's call the case The Beckwith Family Haunting.

In 1998, the Beckwith family moved into a house in Seymour, Connecticut, expecting a fresh beginning.

Now, the property was old, 19th century almost, and reportedly repossessed, and had been left vacant for more than a year.

Now, its unusually low price made it an opportunity for the family that, you know, maybe we can start afresh, get a new place, and start everything from the very beginning.

And subsequent retellings linked the discovery to renewed paranormal activity.

The reported connection added another layer to the case, suggesting that the history associated with the location extended beyond the family's time there.

As the years passed, the Beckwith story became widely known beyond Seymour.

The house attracted the attention of people interested in paranormal cases, and its reputation eventually drew visitors to the area.
