Just an incredible series of circumstances.

When you describe, going back to Vietnam, your work with R&R, there's a couple of different strands that... developed to explore in that experience and also in conflict, it's been documented how a lot of the R&R activity that came to Southeast Asia, it certainly did not establish the the what what continues today in terms of the prostitution and the sex trade but it did kind of it's been documented has put it somewhat in hyperdrive of you know um of really giving a um a kind of concerted push to some of those districts and some of them have their origins or their their development to some of those some of the background and um in uh and American soldiers coming on R&R into some of those places.

And so, you being a coordinator in that position, I suppose I have one question on conflict.

Did, did you see the impact that, that this was having and in the way that soldiers and locals started to come together and how the, the, it came to be seen there was money to be made and how that then expanded into something after Vietnam from, you know, this has been documented, but from your personal experience, did, did you witness some of this taking shape?

Well, I got to Bangkok initially, as I said, in 1962.

In 1962, there was a very, very large, sophisticated sex trade going on.

It had been this way for a long time.

Well, I'm curious 'cause you came from the lifestyle, and one of my experiences, I'm just gonna talk shit for a second.

I just feel like swingers in general don't have that professionalism, and then they'll kind of come into the adult industry-

As a side note, if anyone listening's interested in a book, there's a book called I Heart Sex Workers: A Christian Response to People in the Sex Trade by Leah Clare Seol, who is a minister who has been ministering to and with sex workers for a good while when she wrote it.

It's from 2013, so it's not majorly up to date, but it was, for me, it was a, a sort of good introduction to a Christian ethic around sex work.
