Sewanee

As the daughter of a local butcher, I grew up in and amongst the farming community of East Tennessee, learning from an early age the importance of knowing where and who your food comes from.

I'm Maddie Sinknecht, a beginning farmer and cook in Sewanee, Tennessee.

I've been working on farms since 2020 and currently run a small operation of my own here on the Cumberland Plateau.

I'm also on the leadership team for Southeast Tennessee Young Farmers, a chapter of the national Young Farmers Coalition that works to support farmers in Southeast Tennessee through community building, resource sharing, and policy advocacy.

after 10 years in the performing arts vanessa transitioned into counseling and earned her m.a in counseling from trevecca nazarene university in nashville she began her clinical work in a community non-profit serving underprivileged clients throughout middle tennessee her work later expanded into teaching and lecturing counseling students divinity students and clergy on the intersection of psychology and theology Vanessa has lectured at places such as Vanderbilt University, Lipcomb University, Nashoto House Seminary, Sewanee, the University of the South, Cumberland Heights Addiction Treatment Center, and more.

She is also the author of The Toolbox, The Tools We Need to Build Relationships and Repair Them When They Break, and the host of the Work of Being Human podcast.

What drew me in is Vanessa's belief that mental health requires two commitments.
