Where did you grow up, Tim?

I grew up in Towson.

Grew up there, northern Baltimore, and then moved to Annapolis in eighth grade, went to Spalding.

And yeah, I live right across the Severn River Bridge, so really close to the academy.

And so what, what kind of talk about was that your dream to go to the academy? And I'm curious how much Luke Lombardo, uh, who was a Spalding graduate as well, your senior, um, captain, how did he impact you as far as coming to the Naval Academy to play golf?

Yeah.

Shall we? A 20-year-old Baltimore man has pleaded guilty to two separate 2024 murders here in Anne Arundel County.

Deondre Sharps admitted to first-degree murder and firearm charges in the June 14th shooting death of 34-year-old Keon McKinney in Severn, and the June 29th shooting death of 34-year-old Joshua Holland in Brooklyn Park.

Investigators tied Sharps to the cases through surveillance video, fingerprints, and ballistics evidence.

And in McKinney's case, police say the killing was targeted, and Sharps expected payment and marijuana in exchange for committing the murder.

Sunny and very warm today across the Annapolis region with highs in the mid to upper 80s, but temps will cool down this weekend as a front moves through, which could bring a few showers late night and overnight tonight.

Ahead of mostly cloudy skies Saturday and highs in the upper 60s to maybe lower 70s, with a small chance for a shower or two as well, which should make for pretty comfortable conditions overall for the Annapolis Pride Parade and Festival from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Bates Athletic Complex, with Sunday then bringing cooler temps in the mid-60s with a better chance for some showers and storms throughout the day, primarily though in the PM hours, with the Lifeline 100 bike rides kicking off at 7:00 AM at Kinder Farm Park in Severna Park, which will hopefully stay mostly dry, but it could be a bit wet at times for the riders on their various courses across Anne Arundel County.

Looking ahead to next week, sunshine should return on Monday, with temperatures around 70 degrees for afternoon highs, with sunny highs Tuesday and Wednesday in the low to mid-60s as AM lows drop into the upper 40s to mid-50s both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

We're going to have that answer in a few, but right now we have some news, so let's get into it.

Shall we? A 29-year-old Severn man was killed early Saturday in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash at Town Center Boulevard and Jacobs Road up in Severn.

Anne Arundel County police say that Khan Minh Nguyen was traveling north on Town Center Boulevard at around 4 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curb and was thrown from his Kawasaki Ninja.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was the third serious motorcycle crash reported by county police this month, including a September 16th crash in Severn that left a 25-year-old rider with light-threatening injuries and a September 20 crash in Linthicum that killed a 42-year-old Glenn Burning Man.

The Anne Arundel County Public Library System has now distributed, get this, 12,000 free gun safety locks since launching the program back in 2023.

The locks are available at all 16 branches through a partnership with the County Health Department's Gun Violence Intervention Team.
