Seventy

Okay.

So shortly after Brigham and 11 other men are, are ordained as apostles, the church, church leaders then ordain another group of men, um, known as the Seventy.

And all of these ordinations, they include, um, often really extravagant blessings.

So Brigham's own blessing when he was ordained as an apostle was that he would, he would go basically around the world, um, preaching so powerfully that people would think that he was a god.

As a young married father, I was called to serve in the branch presidency.

Elder Clinton L. Cutler of the Seventy came to speak to our branch.

After the meeting, I had an opportunity to talk with him.

Sensing that I had something on my mind, he asked, Is there something bothering you? Yes, I replied.

And in the church today, we have quorums of 70 that are symbolic of of the support that God gave to Moses in the wilderness.

And that's what the Quorum of the Seventy is supposed to do today, is provide that additional divine guidance.

I wonder if there's an intertextual parallel here.

Moses is feeling overwhelmed because the people are murmuring, And notice what he says here.
